Reichman University · Natural Language Processing
We are an NLP research group at Reichman University, led by Kfir Bar. Our research explores the intersection of language and computation, with a focus on low-resource languages, LLM analysis, and text generation — bridging foundational NLP with real-world applications in healthcare and digital humanities.
News
Automatic Segmentation of Classical Tibetan Texts — accepted to LREC 2026.
Our paper on LLM-based automated therapy was named an Outstanding Paper in npj Mental Health Research.
Preference Tree Optimization: Enhancing Goal-Oriented Dialogue with Look-Ahead Simulations — accepted to ICLR 2025.
Our Research
Foundational NLP
We investigate core challenges in NLP, including LLM analysis, text representation, temporal reasoning, and efficient text generation. Our work explores how meaning and reasoning emerge within state-of-the-art neural architectures.
Large Temporal Models: Unlocking Temporal Understanding in LLMs for Temporal Relation Classification (Homburger and Bar, 2025)
Healthcare
We develop NLP systems with real-world healthcare applications, from pipelines that extract structured patient journeys from clinical records to language models for automated mental health therapy.
Decode Like a Clinician: Enhancing LLM Fine-Tuning with Temporal Structured Data Representation (Fadlon et al., 2025)
Digital Humanities
We develop language technologies for the analysis of diverse historical corpora, enabling large-scale computational access to texts in under-resourced languages like Sanskrit and Tibetan.
DharmaBench: Evaluating Language Models on Buddhist Texts in Sanskrit and Tibetan (Hashiloni et al., 2025)
